Online Ordering Terms and Conditions

These answers cover most of the FAQ about ordering a book.

  1. Please choose an image and title that most suits your situation.
  2. Click to ORDER and then on each order page there is a LOOK INSIDE option that will show you each page -both images and text.
  3. We CANNOT CHANGE ANY OF THE IMAGES but we can change the names within each book but only where the names currently appear.
  4. We can change the last page of text on certain titles where it says 'your brother and son I will always be' (same for daughter etc.), to cousin or friend etc. You will need to email this request in once you have ordered your book.
  5. We CANNOT change DELIVERY TIMES! The publication date date varies but we aim to go to print bi-monthly and the dates are always updated on the delivery information on the website. We print the books in batches to make the process affordable to all customers (see TERMS AND CONDITIONS below for more on this). We cannot get your book to you for a certain date as the dates of publication and delivery are always set.
  6. We only send books overseas via courier with tracking.
  7. We now offer hardback as well as softcovers - there is an additional cost for the hardback versions - you need to scroll down on the tab on the order page for this option.

PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL DETAILING YOUR ORDER - please check your JUNK email if you have not received a confirmation within a few hours of purchase?

If you need to change ANYTHING on the order you MUST email us and get a confirmation that the order has been changed as requested. We will not change books or names that have been entered in the boxes unless you have notified us via email that you have entered the boxes incorrectly and you have requested the change via email.

The NOTES section that sometimes appears within the order process is ONLY for any delivery requests - again we cannot always let courier or the Royal Mail have individual instructions as this is out of our control once the book/s are sent.

If you have any questions that are not covered here please email - Gail Powell - Publishing Director - gail@nulllossbooks.com

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Loss Books. Our aim is always to fufill your order in a satisfactory condition.

Due to the fact that we have to batch print which means we have to wait for so many orders per month and, therefore, at present we cannot speed up the turnaround process. Depending on what time of the month you order. We aim to print twice a month - we take orders up to the last day of each month and around the middle day of the month, depending on what workday this falls on.

The print process usually takes 5 working days, and then they are dispatched all over the world – leaving our small yet loving and sensitive base in the UK.

The books are dispatched by the printers by hand. We can only apologise if you receive the wrong book and will reprint and your book will be reprinted and replaced immediately. Errors do occur but thankfully very rarely.

Our website offers a unique range of personalised baby, child, and adult loss books.

In the case of the twins and the triplet ranges we also include the surviving baby/babies' names.

Although we have changed our URL to www.lossbooks.com in the last few years our brand name 'The Story of Books' is still occasionally used.

The website is wholly owned and operated by Loss Books Ltd – The UK.  A privately owned publishing company is based in West Yorkshire. We are very small and these books are truly a labour of love and not in any way mass produced.

If you would like to contact us about anything contained within the website, then please contact the Publishing Director – Gail Powell - by email at gail@nulllossbooks.com
